About

Hancock County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a certified program by the Office of GAL/CASA or State Court Administration at the Indiana Supreme Court and is a proud member of the National CASA Association. Located in Greenfield, Indiana, Hancock County CASA is dedicated to serving children in the system who are victims of abuse and neglect within the community.

Our CASA volunteers play a crucial role in advocating for these children, providing them with a voice in court and a supportive friend throughout the legal process. By ensuring that each child’s needs are heard and met, CASA helps to bring stability and hope to children facing the most challenging circumstances.

In 2024, so far, 160 children have been removed from their homes due to abuse and/or neglect, with over 140 children currently being served by our 50 CASA volunteers. These children need the love, support, and advocacy that our volunteers provide, helping to ensure their voices are heard and their well-being is prioritized.

Meet Our Team

Jessica Westfall

Director

Jessica Westfall grew up in Fairmount, Indiana, and moved to Hancock County in 2015. She is a mother to two sons and has a diversified professional background. Jessica knew CASA was her calling when she began volunteering as a CASA in September 2020. Her passion for families and kids leads her to put her heart and soul into every case. Jessica is excited to begin a larger role within the CASA organization and looks forward to continuing to help the children and families of Hancock County.

Cheryl Seelig

Program Coordinator

Cheryl Seelig became a CASA volunteer in 2012 with a family of 6 children. In 2014, she became the Program Coordinator, where she continues to oversee all volunteers, monitoring cases and attending court hearings.

Cheryl has 4 children and 4 grandchildren. She spends her time watching their soccer games, gymnastics performances and karate classes. In her free time Cheryl enjoys riding her motorcycle and rides with the Patriot Guard and the American Legion Riders, doing veteran support activities, partaking in motorcycle events such as funerals and parades, and supporting the local community.

Ron Miller

Case Manager

Ron Miller, a Martinsville, Indiana native, earned his BA from DePauw University, MBA from Western Governors University, and JD from Indiana University. He began his career in IT and data processing management before transitioning to law, working with the Indiana Supreme Court, Marion County courts, Department of Workforce Development, and several prominent law firms, including Barnes & Thornburg and Frost Brown Todd.
In January 2024, seeking a more community-focused practice, he opened his own general law firm in New Palestine and began volunteering as a CASA in Hancock County.

Ron and his wife, Emily, reside in New Palestine with their daughter, Amanda, a student at Sugar Creek Elementary. He also has two older daughters, Sarma, a Family Case Manager for DCS, and Liene, who is completing a nursing transition program. In his free time, Ron enjoys golf, writing fiction, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Janice Deckard

Administrative Assistant

Janice Deckard grew up in Shelbyville, Indiana and moved to Hancock County in 2011. She is married to Jim and together they have two daughters. Janice has an extensive background in a variety of office administration duties. She also has previous experience working with children. She is passionate about helping others. In her free time, she enjoys going to the lake with family, working out and watching her girls play soccer. She is excited for her new role at CASA serving the children of Hancock County.

MacKenzie Glumac

Social Media & Community Outreach Manager

Born and raised in Hancock County, MacKenzie graduated from Greenfield Central High School. After completing her bachelor’s degree at IUPUI, she then went into marketing, communications and public outreach with the State of Indiana. MacKenzie enjoyed her time with the State building awareness and spreading beneficial information and resources to Hoosiers in need of assistance and support.

MacKenzie joined CASA in the fall of 2022 to help spread awareness and share the importance of CASA. Through social media and outreach efforts, MacKenzie plans to help build CASA’s presence in Hancock County to help serve neglected and abused children in her community. In her spare time, MacKenzie enjoys traveling with her son, daughter and husband and caring for chickens, bunnies, and goats.
